I’ve found myself in quite the catch-22 as of late. No raiding guild wants a new 80, for obvious reasons. I’ve been trying to find one who will let me sit the bench for a week or two, until I can gear myself up. Nothing has happened as of yet.
Being that I don’t have a guild to help me with heroics/ToC, that leaves me forced to PUG everything, which is also a tough situation. It seems as if everyone in the LFG channel wants to see your achievement for the instance/raid they’re trying to put together, and/or have you doing 5k+ DPS. Which is ironic, seeing that I found my way into a VoA25 run and only 2 folks were doing 5k DPS. We cleared the place without any problems.
I guess in some way I can understand why people are being so “elitist” about PUGs. Nobody wants to wipe and nobody wants to carry some random player who’s completely over their head. I understand that. However, sometimes you have to think about the player and their class. Quite frankly, in ToC, I’ve done more DPS than people better geared than me, in full epics nonetheless. They’re either paying the hybrid tax, weren’t paying enough attention, or didn’t know how to play their class. Either way, I led the chart in my mix of epics, blues, and a few greens.
I’ve mostly been running the daily heroic/heroics for emblems and farming regular ToC for gear. That will have to continue until I’ve swapped out all of my greens, at a minimum. I only have 3-4 of those left. Hopefully I’ll have full purples in a week or so, which will open doors to raiding guilds on my server.
