It is a very long, and very involved quest line picks up and drops off at odd intervals. Long story short, you need to have Shadow Vault opened up and the Skybreaker quests unlocked in order to chat with Thassarian.

The first half involving Matthias is through the Death Knight, and it's first quest is "Exploiting an Opening" and picks up again after "Field Repairs" with "Do Your Worst" do those quests and get to the heart of the Heart questline with Tirion Fordring starts with the quest "Where Dragons Fall"

Overall, hands down, the coolest overarching quest chain in Wrath of the Lich King, and because of its length I can't see how you can do the Icecrown quest achievement without it.

You also mentioned a quest chain. The one with the anagram of Arthas' name. What was that called again? Where does it start? I'm really enjoying learning about all this, especially as I am working on Loremaster right now. Thanks again!

No problem! It really depends on what you want to learn about, but the ones we've mentioned so far in the show have been:

"The Last Guardian" by Jeff Grubb
"Tides of Darkness" by Aaron Rosenburg
"Beyond the Dark Portal" by Aaron Rosenburg and Christie Golden
"Arthas: Rise of the Lich King" by Christie Golden

I recommend "The Last Guardian" the most, mostly because of its place chronologically and the magnitude of the events within it.

We've also discussed the comics, and volume 1 and 2 are available in hardback. And while we haven't discussed it (on air) yet, but I'd also say the mini-comic series "Ashbringer" is very enjoyable and important for the story of Alexandros and Darion Mograine, and obviously the Ashbringer.

Would it be possible to get a list of the books that were mentioned in this podcast? I want to order some of them for Christmas presents.
