I feel bad about your plight of creating the guild… not because of having to beg… but that no one simply gave you a little advice. Getting to stormwind from Darnassus is actually very easy since WotLK was released. There is a portal thing near the bank that will port you to the bottom of the tree where there is a gryphon master and a dock.

If you go out onto the dock there will be a boat that will take you to auberdine. Once there simply go to the otherside of the dock and wait for another boat. This boat will take you directly to stormwind harbor. The trip totals around 5-10 mins depending on how long you are waiting for the boats. Likely faster then trying to get a port from Darnassus where no one ever goes.

As far as the money issue… you mentioned creating a warlock to try and get some gold questing. What you should have done though is create a Death Knight. Just doing the first few quests and vendoring the items from the mobs would be plenty to start the guild. You don’t even have to finish the questline as there is a working mailbox in the town you are attacking in the very beginning.

These 2 things would have gotten you to your goals faster and with your pride still intact

It makes me sad that the guild you created was alliance, but you being horde I see why you would want to try something different. I’ll still try and create an alt if for no other reason than to say Hi.

For a caverns of time instance I think it would be cool to have one that mostly takes place in current time. With the cataclysm there could be major damage to the caverns itself. The infinite dragonflight could be assaulting the bronze dragonflight directly. There could be one leader at the end of the instance that does some sort of time warp ability that sends the party back in time having to fight in some historical battle and then return to the present. Sort of like VH where the bosses you fight vary but the last one is the same. They could be epic events like helping kill Varians father in stormwind, helping lothar kill Medivh in Karazhan, or Grom kill cenarius/or that demon dude. Basically what ToC promised with the confessor but totally failed to deliver on.

I’ve always viewed Elune and the earth mother as kind of the same thing. What I wonder is if it isn’t simply the life force of azeroth. Similar to how the lay lines work with magic… the elune/earth mother is simply an energy force that can be tapped into. The priests and shamans that use the force view the power they gain as blessings or choices of their deity… but in reality the force itself has no consciousness and it is simply controlled by those who have access to it and interpret the ebbs and flows of nature. Basically both views are based off of chance and coincidence misinterpreted as intelligence. This would explain why there is seemingly no interaction between the titans, old gods, and dragon aspects with Elune/Earthmother but there is with those priestess and shamans who “serve” their deity.

I had an idea on a new CoT instance that might be interesting. According to lore, Deathwing is being held together by Adamantium plates forged by Goblins ( and possibly Dark Iron Dwarves ). We could be sent back into that timeline by Chromie on a mission to the forges where the plates were made to sabotage certain plates and make it possible to break open his armor and kill him now. This could also play into the theory that Nozdormu is being self-serving in his manipulation of the timeline, as Deathwing could be what he saw as his eventual killer.

I am amazed that an adult, with more than 1 year experience in the game, with at least one level 80 would not be able to come up with a plan other than begging. I can think of at least 3 that would have worked.
1) quest – get over it and do it
2) create a DK, go through the initial quests and you will have at least 100g + bags to ship to your new toon
3) let others know before hand so you can all create the guild together

I can think of at least 3 that would have worked.

I’m sorry to see that we are losing a listener over this. I really value all of our listeners a tremendous amount and it makes me sad to see I have alienated one of them.

As to all 3 of your points on better ways to get gold than begging: I think they are all perfect ideas. So why didn’t I do them?

I’m impatient. It’s really that simple. I can be impulsive to a fault and when I want to do something–I do it. And on that day I wanted to make the guild, I wanted to make it at that moment, and I liked the name that I had come up with so I wanted to lock it in.

Other people have emailed me about the DK idea, which I’m going to talk about on the next episode tonight. At the time, it just didn’t occur to me. I made my DK over a year ago and I honestly didn’t think about them being able to make gold quickly. If I had, then that would have been what I would have done.

And yes, it’s possible that anywhere from 10-20 people may have put me on ignore and I’m willing to accept that consequence. I was up front and apologetic with people, I tried to be as tactful as I possibly could.

All that being said, if I had it to do over again I’d have thought it through more. But impulse got the best of me and I didn’t really stop to rationally think of better ways to do it.
