Pre-Cataclysm World Events Begun on PTR’s

The early stages of the pre-Cataclysm events have begun on the PTR’s.

With the pre-Cataclysm events and quests now on the PTR’s, it is looking more and more like Patch 4.0 is getting scarily close to release. There have been predictions of an early November release for Cataclysm, and while I still think that this seems early to me, clearly things are moving far enough along that we will see big changes sooner than later.
One thing to keep in mind as far as release dates goes is Blizzcon. Blizzcon 2010 is October 22-23. I wouldn’ t expect anything in the way of Patch 4.0 the week before or after Blizzcon. I think with all the preparation that goes into that event Blizzard will need the week before to deal with nothing but Blizzcon and the week after to take a breath.
So where does that leave us? Looking at the calendar two dates that stick out are October 5 and November 2 for Patch 4.0, if you remove the week of Blizzcon as well as the weeks before and after.
Could we see Patch 4.0 as early as October 5? It’s very possible but I personally like to err on the side of caution and am looking more toward November 2 as the release date for Patch 4.0.
According to that schedule I would put the release of Cataclysm at December 7. The date of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the date of the attack on Azeroth.
