Icesnake’s Add-on Emporium: WoW 5.0.4 Segment 17; AttackNearestEnemy
I am the Icesnake, and this is my Emporium. Stay awhile, and listen!
This segment is about an unusual add-on; one that you may use once and then uninstall, and still continue to benefit ffrom what it does.
AttackNearestEnemy creates a macro the first time you log onto a toon. The macro is tuned (no pun intended) to the character class of that toon, and placed in the macro section for that specific character. Once that has been done for each toon, you could uninstall the add-on, and continue to use the macro.
What does the macro do? Ah, that is the beauty of this add-on. The AttackNearestEnemy macro will dismount you, regardless of your setting in Blizzard’s options, clear your target (so that you aren’t targeting someone out of range, or dead), target the nearest enemy, and start the attack. For Hunters, the attack is NOT started, as that would immediately aggro the mob, but Hunter’s Mark is cast instead.
Once the macro has been created, you’re free to edit it as you like; and then, of course, you’ll want to bind it to a hot key or mouse button. There’s a chat command to erase and re-write the macro, should you manage to fudge it up beyond all recognition.
You’ll want to check out the add-on’s Web page for all the details.
You can download AttackNearestEnemy from Curse.
