Icesnake’s Add-on Emporium: WoW 5.0.5 Segment 18; Deadly Boss Mods

[Nov 3, 2012 | No Comment] by: Icesnake Frostfyre

This is the Icesnake.

Today I bring you Deadly Boss Mods. If you are planning to raid, you need Deadly Boss Mods. If you have never raided before, Deadly Boss Mods (also known as DBM) will help you to look a little less like a noob.

DBM will help you know when to take action in boss fights, to keep you and your fellow raiders alive. If you use LFR, you should be using DBM.…

Icesnake’s Add-on Emporium: WoW 5.0.4 Segment 17; AttackNearestEnemy

[Oct 31, 2012 | 3 Comments] by: Icesnake Frostfyre

I am the Icesnake, and this is my Emporium. Stay awhile, and listen!

This segment is about an unusual add-on; one that you may use once and then uninstall, and still continue to benefit ffrom what it does.

AttackNearestEnemy creates a macro the first time you log onto a toon. The macro is tuned (no pun intended) to the character class of that toon, and placed in the macro section for that specific character. Once …

Icesnake’s Add-on Emporium: WoW 5.0.4 Segment 16; Hear Kitty

[Oct 29, 2012 | No Comment] by: Icesnake Frostfyre

I am the Icesnake, and you’re listening to my Add-on Emporium.

This segment is for those “resource users;” if your toon uses chi, mana, combo points, etcetera, or if you drive vehicles that use resources, Hear Kitty is for you. That’s H-E-A-R Kitty. This add-on plays a sound to let you know what’s happening with resources so you don’t have to glance away from your target.

Hear Kitty works for Druids, Rogues, Shaman, Priests, Hunters, …

Icesnake’s Add-on Emporium: WoW 5.0.4 Segment 15; Decursive

[Oct 27, 2012 | No Comment] by: Icesnake Frostfyre

This is The Icesnake. Perhaps you are not prepared; but you could be! The Emporium is here to help.

Mages, Monks, Shaman, Priests, Paladins… Decursive supports all classes with cleansing abilities and configures itself automatically, it works straight out of the box, no configuration is required.

Decursive is an add-on that places a small bar on your play window which, when your ability is active, allows you to quickly remove debuffs from members of your …

Icesnake’s Add-on Emporium #50: Shaman

Segment 50: Add-ons for Shaman

I have been informed that, during the per-class segments, I somehow contrived to miss the shaman. Let’s correct that right now.

The shaman is a hybrid support class, providing DPS via spellcasting or melee, or healing. In addition, the shaman can place totems to provide additional benefits to the party or deal additional damage to enemies.

To help your shaman in his chosen role, I’ve put together a list of …

Resto Shaman Spec for Patch 4.0.1

[Oct 12, 2010 | 4 Comments] by: Jason Zimmerman

I’m continuing my series of class spec guides, following my Protection Paladin and Arcane Mage posts, with the Restoration Shaman. Resto Shaman was my first main in World of Warcraft so I decided to give them back some love.

My colleague and Podcast Co-Host Modem might disagree with some of my selections here–especially since he has been playing a Resto Shaman full time–but this is the build that I would personally go with. There is …

Icesnake’s Add-on Emporium, Segment #27: Healbot Continued

[Aug 21, 2010 | No Comment] by: Icesnake Frostfyre

Back in the Emporium Segment number 4, I covered Grid as the must-have add-on for healers. A couple of comments (which have been lost due to the server change) invited me to look at Healbot as an alternative, and I must say I am impressed. Most impressed! I am actually reviewing Healbot Continued, the successor to the original Healbot. I’ll refer to it as “Healbot” to save my voice, and a few million innocent …

Icesnake’s Add-on Emporium Segment #4: Grid

[Jun 17, 2010 | 2 Comments] by: Icesnake Frostfyre

This week we’re going to take a look at a simple yet powerful aid for healers, called Grid. I will also mention a few enhancements to Grid, and a link to a tutorial on how to get the most out of Grid.

Grid is an essential tool for healers. Anyone who has been in a raid knows that, many times, there is way too much going on during a fight to look at the standard …

Shaman Versus Druid

[Sep 20, 2009 | 2 Comments] by: Honors Code

This is a post talking about my next alt to 80. My highest Horde is level 51. I’ve never seen Outland or Northrend from the Horde perspective, and I’d like to see the other side before Cataclysm comes out. This is not a post asking what I should level u…

Patch 3.2 Preview: New Shaman Totem Bar [screenshot]

[Jul 9, 2009 | 2 Comments] by: Jason Zimmerman

Attention all Shaman: The new totem bar is a nice feature that you are really going to enjoy.

If you are like me, you have been frustrated by running into a boss fight and trying to drop totems one at a time while waiting for their cooldown in between. This is especially frustrating for healers because you are trying to get your totems down and watch health bars at the same time. Can you imagine …

Twinkies: The Kind That Kill You

[Jun 26, 2009 | No Comment] by: Jason Griffith

No, not those twinkies. These Twinkies!
I haven’t had a lot to say on the blog lately because rather than being focused on leveling my characters, I’ve been focused on leveling and gearing new and existing characters to do a little twinking in battle grounds.
Since the paladin that I blogged about for so long is [...]
